Indifferent Melody

a brush of lips across my face

breathed your scent,

A flow of feeling, just, right

heard your quiet laugh,

as I sighed in your embrace

my eyes drifting after,

as you slipped from sight

even a priestess can fall

a queen’s icy heart can melt

a gypsy with a crystal ball

can slip into fate’s hidden net

a beautiful harmony,

with broken timing,

the rhythm can’t be found

perfect lyrics sung

to an indifferent melody,

a sweet but discordant sound
